The 50th Anniversary of Singapore-Japan Diplomatic Relations (SJ50)
2016 marks 50th Anniversary of Singapore-Japan Diplomatic Relations. The official logo for the 50th anniversary of Singapore-Japan diplomatic relations has been selected on 18th September 2015 through public competition which was conducted from 8 June 2015 to 10 July 2015 with 80 entries. This logo will be used for the events related to the 50th anniversary of Singapore-Japan diplomatic relations in 2016.

■ The intention behind the official logo
The creator: Mr Kenny Khoo (Singaporean residing in Japan)
- An ecstatic font is used for "50" to express an image of constant progression of the diplomatic relations between the two countries. In addition, the initials of the two countries "S" and "J" are used to create the "SJ50" catchphrase.
- A symbol that best represents each country, "Singapore = Merlion" and "Japan = Mount Fuji", were added to the 50. The oval line around in the number emphasizes the "Exchanges" and "Interactions" between the two nations.
- The Colour RED which is used in the national flag of both countries, is selected as the main color. Together with the gold colour which symbolis "Golden Jubilee", this color combination provides an elegant image for the logo.

Ltd. | Our annual symposium brings together experts from both Japan and Singapore, with the presentation of their own thoughts on the ageing population in both countries, and the exchange of ideas on how we can better react to and deal with the ageing problem. This is the third time we are holding the JSIP Symposium. This year, we will be focusing on Japan’s “Community Based Integrated Care” where we will introduce the residential healthcare services for the frail, sick or bedridden elderly who are unable to care for themselves and need to be cared within their own homes. |

Treatment of periodontal disease may also have the potential to affect blood glucose control and contribute to the progression of diabetes. Healthy diet and lifestyle also affects them. Diabetes can be a terrifying disease because if left untreated, it can lead to blindness, the need for artificial dialysis or an amputation due to various complications, which also includes periodontal disease. |

The theme for the Japanese Cultural Festival (JCF) 2016 is 和 ‘harmony’, reflecting our desire for JCF to be a point where students, members of the public, and organizations may meet, mingle, and share their knowledge and love for Japanese culture. In this two-day event, booths are divided into four different experience zones: 四季 (The Four Seasons), 和紙 (Traditional Crafts), 嗜好(Past-times), 現代 (Modern Age), covering different prominent areas of Japanese culture. Participants may try out activities ranging from traditional Japanese crafts and games, to modern-day hobbies such as karaoke. The Japanese Cultural Festival culminates in the Japanese Cultural Night (JCN), a finale concert on the second day of JCF, which showcases the different performing arts in Japan such as Buyo, Koto as well as Japanese pop music. |
