We were delighted to hear from Pei Chun Public School for another presentation on the Japanese language for their new batch of primary three and four students. Starting last year, the local school was first to provide Japanese and French as electives for their students.
On Friday, 23rd September, three JCC staff made their way to the school, where they were greeted with over 700 students at the auditorium. Beginning with the geography of Japan, the staff was amazed by the growing interest and the fact that the kids were already knowledgeable about Japan. As they moved on to introduce Japanese phrases, the students were highly enthusiastic and eager to repeat after them. |
All hands were up during the Q&A session as the students learnt that prizes would be given out. Hiragana worksheets and folders were prepared for them and questions such as “what is good morning in Japanese” and “how do you count to three in Japanese”, were all answered correctly by the students.
At the end of the presentation, the staff shared about the upcoming SJ50 Matsuri that will be held on Saturday, 29th October and Sunday, 30th October at Takashimaya Civic Plaza.
