Did you know that the G7 Summit 2016 was held in the beautiful prefecture of Mie? Why was Mie Prefecture chosen as the place to represent Japan and to welcome the top leader of the world, rather than the well-recognised Tokyo, Osaka or Kyoto? Come down to Japan Creative Centre (JCC) and discover the charms of Mie Prefecture!

Come and join this one day only event where prominent ninja figure, different sake produced in the Mie Prefecture, creative package crafts, and photos and flyers of Mie’s breath-taking natural scenery, food and traditional culture will be presented.

About the Exhibition

© Mie Prefecture

The focus of this one day event will be ninja, one of the fascinating figures of Mie Prefecture. The region of Iga is situated in Western Mie prefecture, and is the birthplace of Iga ninja, the most famous ninja clan. Be thrilled by authentic Iga ninja outfits, and even have the chance to try them on! There will also be a screening of “The Roots of Ninja”, presented by the Ninja Museum of Igaryu.

Moreover, you can sample various sake from the Mie Prefecture, and see unique package crafts. The art of package craft transforms snack package boxes into eye-catching forms like ninja or ise-ebi (Japanese spiny lobster which is known to Mie Prefecture). It was a recipient of the Japan Good Design Award in 2015, and a newly-proposed art form which embodies the spirit of traditional origami and mottainai (a Japanese approach to the concept of waste).
