Our monthly JCC Cinema featured the film “Always -Sunset on Third Street- 3”, and was held at Tanglin Community Club on Saturday, 23rd July 2016. This heart-warming film is based on a long-running manga by Ryōhei Saigan, and follows the lives of the residents on Third Street during the year 1964, when Tokyo hosted its first summer Olympics.
Before the film screening, the audience could help themselves to some light refreshments prepared by Tangling Community Club. Mr Melvin Yong Yik Chye, MP for Moulmein-Cairnhill also took the time to visit and exchanged some words with Ms Misako Ito, Director of JCC. |
A quiz about Japan was hosted, and the audience participated eagerly. Those who answered correctly were rewarded with gifts prepared by Tanglin Community Club. After the film, a lucky draw was also held, and 5 members of the audience walked away with exciting Japan-related prizes prepared by JCC.
This is JCC’s first collaboration with Tanglin Community Club and we look forward to future collaborations with them, so do stay tuned!
