Important Notice
≫For ONLINE APPLICATIONS on JAPAN eVISA website- Only Single-entry TOURISM short-term visa not exceeding 90 days length of stay
- All other applications(e.g. Multiple-entry, business, domestic helper, long-term stay or spouse of Japanese visas) have to be submitted physically at the Embassy
- Prepare documents according to this checklist before submitting the online application below:
- 4-8 weeks processing time is to be expected due to an extremely high volume of eVISA applications. Please submit your application at least 2 months in advance!

≫For PHYSICAL APPLICATIONS at the Embassy
Walk-ins are not allowed for visa application physical submission.
If you no longer need the appointment, please cancel your booking using the link provided at the bottom of your appointment confirmation email. Your kind cooperation is greatly appreciated.
ATTENTION ALL VISITORS: For security reasons, visitors are required to produce ORIGINAL personal identification document with facial photo, e.g. Passport, NRIC or Identity Card to enter Embassy’s premises. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding.
1. Visa Exemption Arrangement (Short-term stay)
Japan has Visa Exemption Arrangements with 71 countries and regions. Singapore nationals do not require a visa for up to 90 days stay as a Temporary Visitor.

3. Application Procedures
Please only apply for a visa within 3 months of your planned travel date.
It takes at least 5 working days to process a visa application submitted at the Embassy if there are no issues with the documents submitted.
For JAPAN eVISA application, a notification will be sent to you by e-mail once the visa is approved. The processing period may take a longer time depending on the volume of applications received.
※Please note that the Embassy will not respond to any inquiries about the eVISA processing period as the notification will be sent to you directly from JAPAN eVISA system.
Depending on the travel purpose or individual circumstances, applicants may be requested to submit additional supporting documents and referral to our HQ, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan(MOFA) may be required. For such cases, more time may be required for visa approval to be granted. The Embassy does not accept requests for same-day issuance nor expedite cases due to personal reasons.

For JAPAN eVISA, payment can only be done by CREDIT CARD.
You can register the credit card information through JAPAN eVISA system only after you receive the payment notice by e-mail.
Visa Issuance Notice will be sent to you within 2-3 working days by e-mail after payment is complete.
For applications submitted at the Embassy, payment must be made upon collection of visa, in CASH only. (Personal checks, credit/debit cards and electronic payment are NOT accepted.)
