Only the following cases may be submitted by the applicants in-person at the Embassy currently:
ATTENTION ALL VISITORS: For security reasons, visitors are required to produce ORIGINAL personal identification document with facial photo (Passport, NRIC or Pass Card) to enter Embassy’s premises. Your cooperation and understanding is appreciated.

1. Visa Exemption Arrangement (Short-term stay)
A visa is required for all foreign nationals whose home country/territory does not have visa exemption arrangements with Japan.
Singapore citizens do not require a visa for up to 90 days stay as a Temporary Visitor.

For applications submitted at the JVAC, please take note that additional handling fee of SGD18.50 is necessary for processing the application. Payment can be made by CASH and DEBIT card only.
For applications submitted at the Embassy, payment must be made upon collection of visa, in CASH only. (Personal checks, credit/debit cards and electronic payment are NOT accepted.)

3. Application Procedures
(1)Only Long-term Residents of Singapore are eligible to apply for Japan visa here. Tourists/Short-term visitors are not eligible, please apply in your home country or country of residence.
(2)Please only apply for a visa within 3 months of your intended travel date.
(3)It takes at least 6 working days to process applications submitted at the JVAC if there are no issues with the documents submitted.

4. Criteria of Visa Issuance
In principle, a visa will be issued to an applicant when they meet all of the following requirements, and the issuance is regarded as reasonable.
(1)The applicant possesses a valid passport and is entitled to re-enter a country of which they are a national/citizen or country of long-term residence.
(2)All submitted documents shall be authentic, completed and satisfactory.
(3)The activities to be engaged in while in Japan, or the civil status or the position of the applicant, and the period of stay shall meet the requirements for the status of residence and the period of stay stipulated in the Immigration Control and Refugee Recognition Act. (Cabinet Order No.319 of 1951. hereinafter referred to as “the Act”)
(4)The applicant shall not fall under any of the items of Article 5, Paragraph 1 of the Act.
