15th Japan-Singapore Symposium (Online)

On 25 and 26 January 2022, the 15th Japan-Singapore Symposium (JSS) entitled “Japan-Singapore Partnership in Regional Cooperation” will be held virtually.
The relationship between Japan and Singapore is a mature one. Against that backdrop, since September 1995, JSS has provided a forum to widely discuss common challenges and matters of mutual interest amongst actors in both countries.
At the upcoming symposium, H.E. Mr. Yoshimasa Hayashi, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, and H.E. Mr. Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Singapore, will deliver keynote speeches. The participants will discuss such issues as partnership between Japan and Singapore as well as regional issues, with the attendance of Mr. Taro Kono, Member of the House Representatives of Japan / Chairman of the Japan-Singapore Parliamentary Friendship League and experts from both countries. The co-chairmen of the symposium are Ambassador Kenichiro Sasae, President, The Japan Institute of International Affairs (JIIA), and Prof. Tommy Koh, Ambassador-at-Large, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Singapore / Special adviser of the Institute of Policy Studies (IPS), National University of Singapore.
