Japan Creative Centre (JCC), Embassy of Japan in Singapore was pleased to host the signing ceremony of Memorandum of Cooperation (MOC) between Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) and Singapore Airlines (SIA) yesterday. Mr. Yusuke Arai, Chargé d’Affaires ad interim, graced the occasion and witnessed the signing between Mr. Akira Ninagawa, Executive Vice President of JNTO and Mr. Campbell Wilson, Senior Vice President Sales & Marketing of SIA.
Through the MOC, JNTO and SIA will enhance cooperation and make significant investments to boost marketing activities to promote tourism to Japan from five key markets – Singapore, Australia, India, Indonesia and Malaysia – to achieve Japan’s goal of welcoming 40 million inbound tourists in 2020. This is also the first time JNTO is announcing a partnership with an airline.
Guests also had the opportunity to experience the thousand-year old traditional Japanese Tea Ceremony conducted exclusively by Ms Sanae Otsuka from Omotesenke, and were treated with “wakabakage” Japanese seasonal sweet with gold fish by Toraya and served with a bowl of Macha (Japanese green tea).
