Ceramic Expressions (2nd Edition) 2018
The events at JCC in August were truly a celebration of cultures, featuring Japanese culture with varying influences, and vice versa. Popular classical piano pieces were performed sense and touch of Japanese nostalgia by Ms Yumeki Ohashi. In Ceramic Expressions (2nd Edition) 2018, Singapore-based artists showcased their pottery works, which incorporated both Japanese aesthetic sense and Singaporean influences.
Our current exhibition features the beauty and diversity of washi through classic Japanese paper dolls, creative accessories like hairpins and earrings, and novel products such as tote bag and table lamp shade. Do visit JCC to experience both the traditional and innovative aspects of washi, and even feel the different types, thickness and softness of raw washi materials at the exhibition.
