
Autumn Sonata ~ An Exhibition by Ikebana International Singapore Chapter 135 ~
October was a busy month for JCC, as we held multiple events including the Japanese Film Festival 2022, Lavender Ring Singapore, Ikebana exhibition, as well as JET (Japan Exchange and Teaching) Programme online briefing sessions. While the pace may be slightly slower this month, do continue to look forward to a myriad of events!

It was certainly an eventful month in October. Firstly, let me congratulate Alberix Niigata FC (Singapore) for winning the 2022 Singapore Premier League! A job well done and we look forward to their performance in the Singapore Cup as well.
JCC also celebrated the best of Japanese cinema in our annual Japanese Film Festival (JFF) at multiple venues. With a wide selection of films, there was something for everyone and I am delighted to hear that many of the tickets were sold out. Opening Ceremony of Japanese Film Festival 2022
On 6 October, the Japanese Film Festival in Singapore 2022 was officially opened with “Anime Supremacy!,” a film directed by Mr. Kohei Yoshino, at Shaw Theatres Lido. H.E. Ambassador’s Visit to Malay Heritage Centre

Ambassador Ishikawa had the golden opportunity to visit the Malay Heritage Centre (MHC) at Kampong Gelam just before its temporary closure from 31 October for a two year renovation work. Autumn Appetite

Culture Day
November 3 is Culture Day, a national holiday. It was on this day in 1946 that the present Constitution of Japan was officially announced. To commemorate this event, the date was made into a holiday two years later to foster the ideals of the Constitution - the love of peace and freedom - through cultural activities.
