We were pleased to welcome many visitors to JCC during the 'Celebrating Women Artists ~ Ceramic Expressions 5th Edition ~' exhibition. JCC Cinema also returned, with the online livestream of 'Napping Princess'. For this month, JCC will be hosting 'The Secret Beauty of Ise Shima Akoya Pearl - Akoya Pearls & Ama Diver ~ The Grand Prix of Akoya Pearl Jewellery 2021 Singapore Edition ~' for a second time. Besides the exhibition where you can vote for your favourite jewellery piece, there is an exciting line-up of events online too, so be sure to join us then.

JCC has had a wonderful start to 2022 this past January! We played host to the “Celebrating Woman Artists ~ Ceramic Expressions 5th Edition ~”, an exhibition series that was co-presented by Mulan Gallery. It was the first time this series featured an all-women line-up, and their artworks captivated many visitors to JCC. Film buffs also enjoyed an online screening of “Napping Princess” as part of JCC Cinema. Ambassador's Visit to Asian Civilisations Museum
On 27 January, H.E. Ambassador Jun Yamazaki visited the Asian Civilisations Museum (ACM) to see an exhibition of works by the highly acclaimed Singaporean photographer, Mr. Russel Wong. Goshuin: Collecting Stamps at Temples and Shrines
Toys, books, sports memorabilia and more: people cultivate all sorts of collections based on their interests. In Japan, stamp collections–not the postage kind, but ink stamps–are common. Setsubun and Bean-Throwing
Japan has four distinct seasons: spring, summer, autumn, and winter. The term setsubun originally referred to the days marking the change from one season to the next, so that there were four of them, but today only the day before risshun (the beginning of spring in the traditional Japanese calendar) is called by that name. Setsubun comes on either February 3 or 4, depending on the year.
