On 11th March, 2011, a mega earthquake and tsunami hit the northeastern Japan, leaving nearly 20,000 dead or missing. Many still remain evacuated from their hometowns as a result of the ensuing nuclear power plant accident. Since then Japan has made countless efforts in the way to recovery.
Japan Creative Centre (JCC) together with NHK Enterprises, Inc. will bring to you a series of TV documentaries reporting on the Japanese efforts to better tomorrow.
The screenings of recovery documentary series will take place basically every 11th of the month (excluding weekends) so as to symbolize the time that has passed since the disaster.
The first film was shown on 11th July, 2012.
This month, JCC will be screening 2 documentaries from the Tomorrow Special series. "Stanislav Bunin - A Song of Thanks" and "Satish Kumar - Be the Future".

Synopsis:
"Stanislav Bunin - A Song of Thanks" : (28min / English voice-over / PG)
In this documentary of his visit, Russian pianist, Stanislav Bunin describes the power of music as the size of an ant compared to the power of nature, but he says music can be helpful now as people struggle to get back on their feet. The main purpose of his visit is a recital with the San-Oh Senior High School girls choir in Sendai.

"Satish Kumar - Be the Future" : (28min / English voice-over / PG)
The renowned Indian thinker travels in Japan to meet with people seeking a new way to live in harmony with nature and hears the stories of university students affected by the March 2011 disaster.
