In conjunction with the 50th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations between Singapore and Japan (SJ50), Japan Creative Centre (JCC), Embassy of Japan in Singapore is proud to present Nihon Buyo – Traditional Japanese Dance Performance by Reitokukai and Akifusaryu.

To add on to this remarkable year, the young disciplines of both Reitokukai and Akifusaryu from Singapore and Japan have collaborated and underwent an exchange programme, where they travelled to one another’s country and learned from each other through Nihon Buyo. Together with their Masters, Mr Naya Reitoku and Mr Guraku Akifusa, the young disciplines will be showcasing the fruit of their exchange programme and perform a series of congratulatory dance (祝儀) to celebrate SJ50 at JCC!

In 2001, he moved to Osaka and started learning "Kyo-mai" and "Kamigata-mai" from other masters who works in Osaka and Kyoto. He further developed his own style of Nihon Buyo in 1999, which is now called “Akifusaryu”. Mr Akifusa currently conducts classes in Osaka and Kobe.
