The Japan Creative Centre, Embassy of Japan is delighted to present a lecture entitled, "Space Technologies Contribution to Our Lives" by Mr Hideyuki Oto from Mitsubishi Electric Asia Pte Ltd (MEAP).
Do you know what role a satellite plays in the space? Satellites are widely used and have become an essential tool in social infrastructure from the view point of communications, navigation, and weather observation etc. In Japan, ever since the first launch of national satellite “Oosumi” in 1970, They have developed various kinds of satellites which has contributed to our daily lives.
Through satellites, we are able to watch overseas sports games on TV,monitor of natural disasters such as Tsunami, flood and wildfire etc.. As Singapore is developing her space satellite technology, this lecture will explain how satellite technologies can be used and how it contributes to our daily lives.
This is an easy-to-understand event for young adults and enjoy the miniature models and moving images of several satellites during the demonstration during the event. Please don't miss this informative lecture by Mr Hideyuki Oto from Mitsubishi Electric Asia!

Hideyuki Oto is currently the General Manager of Space Systems Department at Mitsubishi Electric Asia Pte Ltd (MEAP). He is in charge of the sales and marketing in the Asia & Pacific region for Mitsubishi Electric’s Satellite Platform DS2000.
Mr Oto has over 20 years of experience in marketing and sales and has been working in every satellite related business, including satellite ground systems, satellite terminal, on-board equipment, remote sensing and communication satellite systems. He has extensive knowledge about business development and has wealth of experience in managing domestic and international sales teams for governmental agencies and enterprise customers.
