from Let's Travel! Project.
In conjunction with the Japanese Film Festival 2011 entitled: "JOURNEY", the Japan Creative Centre, Embassy of Japan is pleased to present a special screening of 4 short films from the Let's Travel! Project co organized by the Japan Tourism Agency and Short Shorts Film Festival Committee. Screened for the first time publicly in Singapore, these 4 stories bring audiences on a journey of discovery and awakening. Set against beautiful and sometimes haunting Japanese landscapes, these films promise to be a feast for the eyes and food for the soul.
Come join us at this screening and as seats are limited to 50 places each screening, do come 10 minutes before screening time to secure a seat!

Satoshi returns to Taketomi Island for the first time in 15 years to take part in his grandmother's 97th birthday "mandala" party, a special celebration that is unique to this island. He reunites with Miki, his childhood friend but at the same time, as he arrives at his grandmother's house, he is told she has just passed away.

Joe leaves Tokyo for the first time in 10 years to take a trip across Japan taking him along wakkanai, Biwako and Okinawa. The people he meets along the way, the food and the culture and the trip serves to develop Joe's inner strength as a young man.

Naomi is cautious when a mysterious old woman asks her to deliver something. As she makes the delivery, Naomi sees a little girl running away from her mother. Naomi chases after the girl only to be consumed by long forgotten memories. What waits at the end that transcends time and space.
