Japan Creative Centre invites you to join us at our JCC film screening. As part of JCC's creative program, we will be screening exciting Japanese movies.
For our 19th session, JCC will be screening "The Secret World of Arrietty", also known as "The Borrorwer Arrietty". A Japanese animation directed by Hiromasa Yonebayashi produced by Japan famous animation film studio, Studio Ghibli. This animation is scripted by Japanese famous film director Hayao Miyazaki and Keiko Niwa. This film also won the Animation of the Year award at the 34th Japan Academy Prize.

14-year-old Arrietty and her parents are tiny race of people known as Borroweres who live beneath the floorboards of human houses. They make their own home from items "borrowed" from the human inhabitants. However, life changes for the minscule family when a 12-year-old human boy, named Sho discovers Arrietty.
"The Borrowers must move if seen by humans."
Caught between budding friendship with Sho and loyalty to her family, Arrietty's adventures are more than what the average Borrower would prefer...
