After which, two Japanese balloon artists Ms Hitomi Sugiya – who won the championship at the World Balloon Convention in 2014 and 2016, and Mr Koichiro Kai put up an exciting balloon art performance wearing Japanese Jinbei and Yukata.

Delicious Japanese sake with light refreshments were also served to all the guests at the opening ceremony. As the hometown of Nebuta, a special exhibition showcasing the wonders of Japan’s Tohoku region is presented alongside with the balloon sculptures. It was indeed a fun and unforgettable event, and many visitors came down to JCC to feel the Nebuta vibe during the exhibition period from 19th - 26th August 2017!
