Japanese Docent Group was conferred with the Ambassador’s Commendation Award by Ambassador of Japan to Singapore H.E. Hiroshi Ishikawa on 25 September 2023. The Award was presented in recognition of their significant contributions towards cultural exchange and mutual understanding between Japan and Singapore. Japanese Docent Group is part of Friends of Museums Singapore (FOM) and provides regular tours in Japanese at National Museum of Singapore, Asian Civilisations Museum, Singapore Art Museum and The Peranakan Museum.

Guests included Ms Rasanubari Asmarama Binte Mail, Senior Manager (Arts and Heritage) of the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth, Mr Gerald Wee, Director of the Education and Community Outreach, National Heritage Board, Dr June Yap, Director of Curatorial, Programmes and Publications, Singapore Art Museum, Mr Chun Boon Beng, Senior Assistant Director of the Operations & Corporate Services, Asian Civilisations Museum, and Ms Karen Ng, Vice President of Friends of Museums Singapore.
