The Time Travel in Ginza Street of the Meiji Era - Hyper Edohaku Travelling Exhibition by the Japan Foundation was opened on 30 October at JCC with a lecture by Mr Kutsusawa Hiroyuki, the curator at the Edo-Tokyo Museum where Hyper Edohaku was conceptualised.

Mr Kutsusawa spoke about the digital contents that the Edo-Tokyo Museum created to continue engaging and educating members of the public about Japanese history whilst the museum is currently under renovation. He also presented about the Meiji Era and the hidden themes behind the current Virtual Reality (VR) exhibition at JCC – including the changes in modes of transportation.

Many questions were raised by the guests, such as how realistic Japanese historical video games are, the size of the digital production team and what the focus for Edo-Tokyo Museum’s next project would be. Guests at the lecture were also able to experience the interactive VR for themselves, leaving many visitors impressed with the entire time travelling experience.
