Opening Ceremony & Networking Session of I Love Sushi

The opening ceremony and networking session of ‘I Love Sushi ~ A Traveling Exhibition by the Japan Foundation’ was held at JCC (Japan Creative Centre) on 19 April 2023, in collaboration with JETRO (Japan External Trade Organization) Singapore and MAFF (Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries). H.E. Ambassador Hiroshi Ishikawa and Mr Eiji Hisatomi, Managing Director of JETRO Singapore, were present to welcome the guests. Mr Shinjiro Katano, Section Manager from International Distribution Section Oita Brand Goods Promotion Division, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Department, Oita Prefecture Government, also gave welcome remarks.

An informative seminar was conducted by Mr Sakthibalan Balathandautham who has experience in the food import industry, about the taste and safety aspects of Japanese seafood products, which are commonly found in sushi. Guests enjoyed delicious sushi made with scallops from Hokkaido, salmon from Aomori, yellow and flounder from Oita, as well as miso soup with seaweed from Tokushima, accompanied with Japanese sake.
