Opening of 感0 – KANZERO: An Exhibition by wataboku

Guests gathered at Japan Creative Centre (JCC) on the evening of 19 April 2018 to celebrate the opening of感0 – KANZERO - An Exhibition by wataboku. Curated by Mr Yoichi Nakamuta, this is the third stop in renowned digital artist wataboku’s Asian tour, and his first solo exhibition in Singapore. Wataboku’s tour stop in Singapore also features artwork by Singaporean digital artist Muju Monster, and lifelike sculptures by Japanese prototypist Mr Shigeki Kobayashi.

After a welcome speech by Director of JCC, Ms Akiko Sugita, the curator Mr Nakamuta introduced the artists wataboku and Muju Monster. Wataboku talked about what inspired the theme of the exhibition, and Muju Monster mentioned that he was glad to be able to show his pieces at the exhibition as well, as he and wataboku’s friendship goes back a long way.

Guests were treated to refreshments such as delicious Japanese beer from KIRIN Singapore Holdings, as well as hand-drip coffee by coffee maestro Mr Yasuhiro Hashiguchi of TAG STA, who flew in from Fukuoka, Japan to support the exhibition. Wataboku has also created a collaborative piece for IPPUDO, and as such, IPPUDO has kindly supported the exhibition, and extended a promotion for all guests who visit the exhibition from now till 12 May 2018.
