Fun With Onigiri at Wisma Atria Atrium

Overview of the event at Wisma Atria Atrium.
On Sunday, 22 April 2018, JCC presented Fun With Onigiri, an exciting onigiri event at Wisma Atria Atrium. The event was an onigiri demonstration led by Ms Reiko Yamada, an accomplished chef and author of two cookbooks that focus on simple Japanese home-cooking. Attendees learnt more about onigiri, Japanese soul food, and lucky contestants were chosen to take part in an onigiri-making contest. The top three contestants with the most creative character onigiri won attractive prizes. Due to overwhelming interest, Ms Yamada decided to add another session of the contest so that more people could participate.

Besides the onigiri contest, other Japanese food vendors also had booths at which attendees could enjoy Japanese products. Vendors included SAMURICE, Hakubaku, JAPAN POINT, Tomi Sushi, Asanoya Bakery Singapore, Inter Rice Asia - The Art of Sake, JA Shizuoka Keizairen, Peche Mignon, and Beard Papa Singapore. Kinokuniya also had a booth at which Ms Yamada’s two cookbooks were introduced.
