A guided tour around the exhibition led by exonemo was conducted at the opening ceremony as well, where some of the participating artists spoke about the meaning and significances behind each of their artworks to the guests, following which it was ended with light refreshments.
The theme, Landscapes: New vision through multiple windows, aims to reexamine the modern global landscapes now viewed not from windows on our walls but through windows in our pockets, such as smart phones and computers, an experiment in which we seek to discover the whereabouts of the world we sense to be real by reconsidering the landscapes spreading out before our eyes.
|
12 artworks from leading Japanese artists and world-class media artists including Singapore were introduced and showcased at the exhibition this time round here. There was also a comic and animation appreciation space to introduce Japanese landscapes through these mediums, where one could read and watch some of the famous works.
The Japan Media Arts Festival in Singapore was last held in JCC in 2011. We are pleased that many visitors could enjoy this year's special exhibition in JCC, and were able to experience the different possibilities of media arts.
