Toyama Art and Glass Exhibition in Singapore: Talk at NAFA

As part of the exhibition “Toyama Art and Glass Exhibition in Singapore ~ The Spirit of TOYAMA Glass ~”, a talk was held for students at Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) on 16 January 2020. Mr Koichi Matsufuji, who is a glass artist and professor at the Toyama Institute of Glass Art (TIGA), gave a short presentation on Toyama Prefecture’s history and great reputation for glass art. Later, artists Ms Nodoka Awata, Ms Chika Mabuchi, Mr Takashi Komiya, Mr Takaki Miyamoto, Ms May Chua, as well as the Dean of TIGA, Mr Jin Hongo, introduced some of their pieces and talked about the inspiration behind their artworks.

The students asked many questions during the Q&A session, including questions on the eco-friendliness of glass art and also on entry requirements for TIGA.
