Director's Message

JCC had a good start to the Year 2020, and we hope that it was the same for all our Friends of JCC as well. It was nice to see many families and friends gather for the first JCC Cinema screening of the year at Woodlands Regional Library.

We were pleased to host the second edition of T.A.G. Gallery’s exhibition series, “Toyama Art and Glass Exhibition in Singapore ~ The Spirit of TOYAMA Glass ~” in January. The exhibition featured the art works of 12 artists including one Singaporean artist. The “Artist Networking Session” brought about quite interesting discussions on the past development and future orientation of Toyama glass arts and glass arts of Japan.

In February, we will be having an event featuring Matsue City in Shimane Prefecture. Matsue City is well known for Matsue Castle, which has been designated as one of the National Treasures of Japan. At the same time, there are many other features and springtime delights that the city can offer. With presentation of the charms of the city, tastings of local products and a lucky draw, I hope you will be able to explore and grasp all the good things about this region of Japan! Please come to learn more about Matsue City!

Notice of Postponement

We would like to announce that the Japanese Film Festival will be postponed to the second half of 2020. Our utmost priority is always the public safety of our audiences. All screenings and talks will be postponed.
