The finals for the Japanese Speech Contest 2018 were held on Sunday, 8th July 2016, at the Japanese Association Singapore. This event was jointly organised by Japan Creative Centre, Embassy of Japan in Singapore, The Japanese Cultural Society Singapore, The Japanese Association Singapore, Japanese Chamber of Commerce & Industry Singapore, and The Japanese University Graduates Association of Singapore. A total of 24 participants from 4 categories (Secondary School, Junior College, Tertiary, Open) presented their unique and compelling speeches to a full house. H.E. Ambassador Kenji attended as one of the organisers, and presented The Japanese Ambassador’s Cup to the winner of the Open category.

As 2018 marks the 50th year anniversary since the commencement of the Japanese Speech Contest in Singapore, sponsors have put in extra effort into organising attractive prizes to further promote relations between young Singaporeans and Japan. Congratulations to all of the participants, and we hope to see more exciting and moving speeches next year!
