Orientation and Send-Off Reception for 2026 MEXT Scholarship Recipients

Japan Creative Centre (JCC) hosted the Orientation and Send-Off Reception for the selected recipients of MEXT Scholarship on 16 March. The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan (MEXT, 文部科学省), annually offers MEXT scholarship for undergraduate, specialized training college, and research students. This year’s event also welcomed other students who will go to Japan for exchange as well.
Education Attaché and Deputy Director of JCC Mr Aihara delivered congratulatory remarks to the scholars and exchange students. This was followed by presentations from Mr Samuel Chiang of Jugas (Japanese University Graduates Association of Singapore) Network and Mr Yeow Kent of Singapore Students’ Association Japan (SSAJ). A networking session followed, providing an opportunity for MEXT scholars to connect ahead of their upcoming years in Japan.
