Botanical artist Ms Asuka Hishiki gave a talk at JCC on 7 March, sharing her botanical adventures and her fascination with plants and insects. She is visiting Singapore for her upcoming exhibition at the Singapore Botanic Gardens.
During her talk, Ms Hishiki recounted her experiences of artist residencies at various botanical gardens around the world, and explained about her artistic process of recreating 1:1 scale artworks of different botanical specimens.
She also shared about paper craft using Japanese washi – which she will showcase at her exhibition "In Green" at the Botanical Art Gallery from 14 March to 15 November 2026.
Guests enjoyed listening to her talk and were amazed by the presentation of her artworks as well as her interesting background stories.
