In February, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs invited Mr. Aun Koh, a well-known blogger on authentic food and cuisine, to Japan for approximately 1 week, and he was put on a tour around 3 prefectures in the Tohoku region (Miyagi, Fukushima and Iwate) severely damaged by the Great East Japan Earthquake. This was part of ongoing efforts by the Japanese Government to help the region recover from the disaster by using the social media to promote toursim, and he learnt much about current circumstances over rehabilitation as well as discovered affluent indigenous charms of Tohoku.

What Mr. Aun Koh witnessed during the trip is reported in detail on his blog “Chubby Hubby.” (http://chubbyhubby.net/) In addition, the summary of such blog articles is also available in the form of a brochure. The web link below connects you to the brochure. (The brochure is compiled by the Japan Tourism Agency which extended strong support to us in putting his itinerary together, through the Singapore office of the Japan National Tourism Organization.
