The Manga Lecture and Demonstration series conducted by Mr Seiji Iwami, an expert Manga drawing artist, were co-organized, among others, by the Embassy of Japan and the Japanese Association. The sessions attracted about 230 Singaporeans who had an enjoyable time due to Mr Iwami’s humorous teaching style. The sessions were held at the following venues:

In addition to the above venues, Mr Iwami held Manga-related events at institutions such as the Republic Polytechnic and the National Art Gallery in Kuala Lumpur where he actively introduced Manga to the public.
(Profile of Mr Seiji Iwami) Mr Seiji Iwami was born in Kainan City, Wakayama Prefecture, in 1960. He received the “New Hope Cartoonist Award” from the Manga Times, a four-frame comic strip magazine in 1981, and became a regular cartoonist for the Manga Times and her other sister publications. In 2000, he successfully accomplished portraits of 2000 people in two weeks during “Japan Week” organized by the Consulate-General of Japan to Jeju-do, Korea. He has also given demonstrations in several countries such as Korea, Turkey and Singapore.
