Visit to Ms Chinami NISHIMURA, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs by Singapore Student Participants of the 21st Japan-East Asia Network of Exchange for Students and Youths (JENESYS) Programme


 
  25 students from Fuhua Secondary School went on an educational tour of Japan from 17 November to 26 November, while 32 others from Chua Chu Kang Secondary School went on theirs from 29 November to 4 December under the Subsidies for 2009 Educational Tour for Singaporean Students to Japan funded by the JENESYS Programme. While there, each group made separate 30-minute visit to Ms Chinami NISHIMURA, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs between 10:00-10:30 on 26 November and between 14:30-15:00 on 3 December respectively.




During the visits, Ms Nishimura delivered her welcome messages which were reciprocated by greetings from the respective escorting teacher and student representative of the schools.

At the chat session, Ms Nishimura answered questions from students about the bilateral relations between Japan and Singapore and the challenges facing Japan’s diplomacy. The exchanges were friendly and pleasant. 3. Besides these visits, the students from Fuhua Secondary School were engaged in exchange with Japanese junior high school students in Iwate Prefecture, while those from Chua Chu Kang Scondary School had exchange with their counterparts in Tokyo.
