The Japanese Film Festival 2009 (Theme: Horror & Mystery) was held from 25th to 30th August at the Gallery Theatre, National Museum of Singapore. It was co-organized by the Embassy of Japan, the Japan Foundation, the Singapore Film Society and the Japanese Association.
9 films (“House”, “The Ghost Story of Yotsuya”, “Strange Circus” etc.) were screened and about 2100 Japanese film enthusiasts attended the festival.

Ms Dawn Yeoh, JCC Goodwill Ambassador, was present to watch opening film, House, on 25th August. In her speech to launch the festival, she aptly remarked, “This festival will showcase critically acclaimed horror movies that were previously not shown in Singapore, so I am very delighted to watch the films with you today."
