The 2010 JET Programme Farewell Reception was held at the Japanese Association on 29 July. A turnout of around 60 people were present, including new JET participants, members of JET Alumni Association (JETAA), CLAIR Singapore and teachers from the Japanese School, Singapore who offered the opportunity to observe English lessons for the new participants.

Minister Yamamoto from the Embassy of Japan as well as Mr. Eugune Neubronner who represented the new JET Programme participants gave speeches. The reception offered a chance to interact and deepen friendship amongst the participants.

This year, 24 Singaporean youths, including 23 Assistant Language Teachers (ALT) and a Coordinator for International Relations (CIR) will participate in the programme. The new participants will depart for Japan in August, and will proceed to their designated schools or local governments after attending an orientation in Tokyo.
