On 30th July 2015, a Farewell Reception was held for Singaporean JET (The Japan Exchange and Teaching Programme) participants at the Japanese Association in Singapore. Besides the new JET participants, members of the JET Alumni Association, executives from the Japanese Association, Japanese University Graduates Association of Singapore (JUGAS), principals, vice-principals and teachers of the Japanese Schools in Singapore and staff of CLAIR Singapore also attended the reception.

At the reception, Ambassador Takeuchi stressed the importance of the JET participants’ role in the education field and the local governments of Japan. Next year marks the 50th Anniversary of the Singapore-Japan Diplomatic Relations. Ambassador Takeuchi expressed his hope that the new JET participants will act as a bridge and contribute to the cultural aspect of the two countries, as what the former and current Singaporean JETs have been doing.
