JET Programme Farewell Reception
 
 
The Farewell Reception for participants of the 2009 JET Programme was held at the Japanese Association on 30 July, Thursday, and about 50 people including new JET participants and members of the JET Alumni Association (JETAA) Singapore Chapter attended.

Following the speech by Mr Akima Umezawa, Counsellor of the Embassy of Japan and Ms Yvonne Chong (representative of this year’s batch), participants interacted and mingled with one another at the reception.

This year, a total of 22 new JET participants, 20 ALTs (Assistant Language Teacher) and 2 CIRs (Coordinator for International Relations) were chosen to participate in the programme. The New JET participants left for Japan on 2nd August, and will go to each of their designated workplaces after a post-arrival orientation in Tokyo.
