Every year, it also organizes the UNIJAPAN International Movie Festival to promote Japanese movies and to source for talent to fuel the booming movie industry. GO!                     MIDNIGHT EYE A NPO website by Mr. Jasper Sharp and Mr. Tom Mess, the author of “The Midnight Eye Guide to New Japanese Film”, this site reviews the latest films and features and profiles some of Japan’s most prolific movie makers. GO!                     J-PITCH J-pitch is an international co-production support program by UNIJAPAN and Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) that supports Japanese film producers who develop international co-productions and enables Japanese films to compete in the international market. It also fosters networking and interaction between Japanese and overseas film producers and promotes the development of Japanese content and film industry. GO!                     Yamagata Documentary Movie Festival A bi-annual event, this festival brings together a cross section of international and Japanese content. Dates for the YIDFF 2011 are now available. GO!                     TOKYO FLIMeX Established in 2000, Tokyo Filmex is a film festival launched by Office Kitano, a Takeshi Kitano's film company. GO!                     SHORT SHORTS Short Shorts Film Festival is a Japanese short film festival which showcases a selection of outstanding Asian films. Supported by world renowned movie makers like George Lucas and Martin Scorsese, this festival is now a worldwide film event, highly credited by both up-coming and established Thespians. GO!                     SINGAPORE FILM SOCIETY The Singapore Film Society is one of the main co-organisers of the annual Japanese Film Festival. The Japanese Film Festival is a much-anticipated event which provides audiences here a rare chance to watch various Japanese classics, contemporary films and animations. Apart from organising film festivals, core screenings, etc. SFS organizes the “Animation Nation” – an animation festival which showcases not only Japanese anime, but also entries from all over the world. The Japanese movie industry embraces a rich mix of traditional and modern genres which take viewers deep into its historical roots and as far into the future as its movie makers allow.
