Ikebana International Singapore Chapter 135 presents IKEBANA in Retrospect: Dialogue with Singapore Artists, in which fellow Ikebanists will create pieces based on their interpretations of the artworks that are being exhibited as part of the National Gallery Singapore's collection, 'Siapa Nama Kamu? Art in Singapore since the 19th Century'. These artworks are all created by local artists in the past 50 years, and this Ikebana exhibition will also kickstart Ikebana International Singapore Chapter 135's 50th Golden Celebration! Besides that, there will also be a workshop open to I.I. members and the public.

About Ikebana International

Ikebana International (I.I.) is a non-profit cultural organisation headquartered in Tokyo, and is dedicated to the promotion and appreciation of Ikebana. Founded in 1956 by the late Ellen Gordon Allen, with a dream to create an organisation uniting the people of the world through their mutual love of nature and enjoyment of Ikebana, I.I. currently has presence in over 50 countries, with 161 Chapters and membership of approximately 7600 people. It is inspired by its motto "Friendship through flowers".

Ikebana International Singapore Chapter 135 was founded in 1969 by Lady Bette De La Mare, wife of the then British High Commissioner to Singapore. The Chapter has since then actively contributed to the learning, appreciation and promotion of the art of Ikebana in Singapore and the region. The Chapter members come from various schools of Ikebana such as Ikenobo, Sogetsu, Ohara, Ichiyo, Ryusei-ha, Souami. Monthly events organised by the Chapter offer the members and Ikebana lovers, a platform for interaction and learning. Over the years, the Chapter has also raised funds through this beautiful art form, and donated to many charitable causes both locally and internationally.
