This art exhibition introduces the rich natural blessings of the Yaeyama Islands, Okinawa. Yuzen dyeing is a traditional Japanese dyeing technique that was developed during the mid-Edo period by a fan painter named Miyazaki Yuzen-sai, who started dyeing patterns onto silk fabric. Today, more than 350 years later, the technique has been inherited as "Yaima Yuzen Zome" by Nei and Nei Tomo, who create artworks using this Yuzen dyeing technique to showcase the beautiful nature of Yaeyama Islands.

Far to the south of the Japanese archipelago and about a three-hour flight from Tokyo, are the Yaeyama Islands, consisting of 32 islands, large and small, at the southernmost tip of Okinawa Prefecture. This region enjoys a subtropical climate year-round and is a treasure trove of nature, blessed with abundant gifts from the earth, sun, and sea.
In 2021, some of these mystical islands, where the gods of nature reside, were registered as a World Natural Heritage site alongside Amami and the Yanbaru region of the Okinawa main island.
