Japan Creative Centre (JCC) and Chado Urasenke Tankokai Singapore Association are delighted to present an exhibition titled The Way of Tea Chanoyu "茶の湯" - Centuries of Tradition and Japanese Wabi ~ with special exhibition in honour of the late Daisosho ~.

Learn about chanoyu (茶の湯) — a manner of preparing and serving matcha to guests that is steeped in Japanese aesthetics and Zen philosophy with centuries of tradition, innovation and refinement through the utensils that were used during the tea ceremony, This exhibition will feature tea utensils from the region and other relevant items such as flower sets, stationery and even pottery from Singaporean artists.

There will also be a special segment to commemorate the late Dr Genshitsu Sen, the 15th Grand Master of Urasenke, also known as Daisosho, who passed away in August at the age of 102. One part of the segment will include the significant engagements the Daisosho undertook during his lifetime, in pursuit of the way of tea.
