Japan Creative Centre (JCC), Embassy of Japan in Singapore and Chado Urasenke Tankokai Singapore Association are delighted to present a 1-day exhibition titled 'Spirit of the Way of Tea'.

This exhibition will showcase Daisosho Sen Genshitsu and his contribution to the Way of Tea in celebration of his 100th birthday. It will also feature hanging scrolls and various other chanoyu utensils made and/or preferred by Daisosho.


Besides the exhibition, there will also be a Japanese Tea Demonstration. Immerse yourself in the delicate grace of the tea demonstration, demonstrated by seasoned tea masters from Chado Urasenke Tankokai Singapore Association. Don't miss this chance to witness the meticulous movements, harmonious balance and profound meaning behind each gesture!

ABOUT CHADO URASENKE TANKOKAI SINGAPORE ASSOCIATION

Chado Urasenke Tankokai Singapore Association was established in June 1991 as a membership non-profit organisation and registered by the Singaporean government.

Its aims are to engage the broader community in study of Chado and to promote a better understanding and appreciation of the rich cultural heritage of Japan as expressed in Chado in Singapore.

Chado Urasenke Tankokai Singapore Association was a recipient of The Foreign Minister’s Commendation for FY2022 for its promotion of Japanese culture in Singapore.


TEA DEMONSTRATION

Tea Demonstration

Join us for a Japanese tea demonstration at JCC. There will be two sessions that are open to the public. However due to limited capacity, registration is required and slots are only available on a first-come first-served basis.
