Japan Creative Centre (JCC), Embassy of Japan in Singapore, is pleased to present Tsukiji with Love – A photography exhibition by Singaporean and Fujifilm X-Photographer/Ambassador Derrick Ong that showcases over 30 selected works featuring the last moments of Tsukiji Fish Market (築地市場) – the largest wholesale fish and seafood market in the world that was opened during the 1930s, and was closed and relocated to the new Toyosu Market in October 2018. |

Derrick Ong has always been a huge fan of sushi, and he regularly visits Tsukiji on his postings to Japan as a wedding photographer. When he heard that the Tsukiji Fish Market was about to close its doors and move to Toyosu, he undertook a special project to showcase the heroes who make enjoying sushi and sashimi around the world possible.

Derrick Ong is a Singaporean and Fujifilm X-Photographer (Ambassador), and has won many awards in his long career as a wedding and portrait photographer. He particularly enjoys his trips to Japan, as they give him the chance to savour the freshest of sushi and appreciate its culinary culture. He also enjoys street photography, as they are a special way for him to record moments that may pass us by in the blink of the eye. |
