Japan Creative Centre (JCC), Embassy of Japan in Singapore, and T.A.G. Gallery are proud to present Toyama Art and Glass Exhibition in Singapore ~ The Spirit of TOYAMA Glass ~, the 2nd edition following a successful exhibition in 2019. This year's edition will showcase around 50 unique glassware creations of 12 artists - 6 new artists, including one Singaporean, alongside 6 artists who participated in last year's exhibition.

All 12 artists are connected to Toyama City - a place well-known for its glass art in Japan - in one way or another. For some, it is their hometown, and for others, it is where they study and work. There will also be an Artist Networking Session led by Head Professor from Toyama City Institute of Glass Art, Dr. Jin Hongo on 16 January, so be sure to drop by JCC to personally see their creative artworks.

About the Exhibition

This exhibition features works by 12 chosen artists from the T.A.G. Award 2019 contest, most of whom won awards. The contest was a joint project with Toyama City, various sponsors and art dealers, in order to showcase artists who are related to Toyama. These artists not only include those who are already accomplished, but also up-and-coming talents, all of whom have promising futures. While there has been great support to promote such artists within Japan since 2011, efforts are now being made from 2019 onwards in order to support these artists' dreams and aspirations beyond Japan and overseas.
