ABOUT TOHOKU, JAPAN

© SINGALIFE / FIFTY ONE MEDIA

The Tohoku region of Japan, which is situated in the northeastern part of Honshu, has managed to preserve the original landscape and environment of an unurbanised Japan to this day. With cherry blossoms in spring, cooling temperatures in summer, fall foliage in autumn, and a snowy wonderland in winter, this region is incredibly rich in nature which shows a different facade each season.

Tohoku is also home to many well-known festivals, which are based on customs and traditions that have been passed down through the centuries, and have taken root in the lives of the people in each prefecture. Moreover, thanks to Tohoku’s unique geographical location, not only is the region blessed with rich seafood and mountain products that are used in many delicious gourmet food and delicacies, but it is also surrounded by attractive and relaxing hot springs.

Easily accessible from Tokyo, Tohoku is an attractive region of Japan which remains a hidden gem and a secret spot to many tourists.
