The topics can be about Japan’s economy, society or politics. Besides the speaker's presentation, guests are encouraged to interact and engage with the speaker through the Q&A and networking reception.

About the Event |
Japan Inc. went through multiple trials and troubles after the bubble bust in early 1992. The bubble lessons from Japan are very relevant to global markets today. Japan continues to show the world the way forward in its advanced economy, and is continuously looking for solutions to the super aging society, reducing carbon footprint and other globally important issues. Mr Jason Low will share some interesting lessons which Japan has to offer. |

Mr Jason Low is currently a Portfolio Manager in the Public Equities Department of the GIC. He co-manages the Asia Total Return Portfolio as a part of the team. He has 15 years of investing experience in Japan and has studied and worked in various parts of Tokyo. His work has enabled him to build a network with many CEOs of corporate Japan. and to study Japan Inc. and its political economy from a vantage point. Mr Jason Low graduated from the University of Tokyo and holds a Master of Science in Wealth Management from the Singapore Management University. He is also a CFA Charterholder since 2007, and has passed Level 1 of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test. His personal interests include leisure piano playing, reading some manga and jogging. |

Dr Tomoo Kikuchi is a Visiting Senior Fellow at the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies, Nanyang Technological University. He was a Senior Research Fellow at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy and an Assistant Professor of Economics at the National University of Singapore. He studied in Japan, Germany and the UK, and obtained his PhD in Economics from Bielefeld University in Germany. His research areas are International Economics, Economic Growth and Macroeconomics. He has published over ten articles in top economics journals including Journal of Economic Theory, Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control, and Theoretical Economics and is an Associate Editor of Journal of Asian Economics. He regularly contributes op-eds in newspapers such as The Straits Times and The Nikkei Asian Review. His latest edited book is China and Japan in the Global Economy (Routledge Studies in the Modern World Economy, 2018). |
