Japan Creative Centre (JCC) and Nikoli Co. Ltd are delighted to present a talk titled Sudoku: Solving Puzzles the Japanese Way ~ Learning pencil puzzles with Mr Anpuku Yoshinao ~ at Our Tampines Hub.

In this event, Mr Anpuku Yoshinao, President of Nikoli Co. Ltd, will talk about Sudoku, its 40 years of history, the future of Sudoku and its appeal to people of all ages. Originally known as "Number Place", Sudoku is one of the most popular logic puzzles in the world and it was first introduced in Japan by Nikoli in their monthly puzzle magazine in 1984. Sudoku is very simple to learn and is said to be a great way to stimulate our brains. It is also a common activity in many cultural centres and programmes in Japan.

Mr Anpuku will also talk about other pencil puzzles that are part of the ever-present pencil puzzle culture in Japan. Discover the joy of solving hand-made puzzles as compared to computer-generated ones and try your hand at solving a special puzzle made just for this event!

This event is part of the official celebrations marking the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Singapore and Japan (SJ60).
