ABOUT KEIBOKU CALLIGRAPHY SCHOOL

KEIBOKU (敬墨) is a calligraphy school in Itabashi Ward, Tokyo, founded around 20 years ago. Its name signifies a deep respect for the art of calligraphy. KEIBOKU is a cherished place where people of all ages — from young children to even 93-years-old — can engage with calligraphy at their own pace.

In Japan, calligraphy is both part of the formal school curriculum and is a popular extracurricular activity. Even in this digital age, KEIBOKU has seen many people re-evaluating the importance of handwriting. Taking up the brush and writing each character with care offers more than just technical training; it fosters concentration, aesthetic awareness, and mindfulness. KEIBOKU believes that more people will continue to seek this enriching experience.
