Japan Creative Centre (JCC), together with LUMINE SINGAPORE, proudly present "Shaping Stories in Ink by Maaya — Bridging Cultures, One Stroke at a Time." This calligraphy exhibition blends Japanese traditional scripts with contemporary art, weaving a tale where tradition and innovation resonate in harmony. Calligraphy artist Maaya Wakasugi will take visitors on a journey where "brushstrokes reflect emotion and culture, turning characters into living stories." Some visitors may also be able to try their hand at calligraphy.

Maaya Wakasugi was born in Okayama, Japan. After graduating from the Department of Chinese Literature at Daito Bunka University, a prestigious institution for calligraphy, Maaya established a unique style inspired by "ancient characters." Based in Bordeaux, France, Maaya has worked on projects including logo designs affiliated with the Louvre Museum and performances at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York, actively showcasing art worldwide. Maaya’s works transcend time and borders, becoming bridges that connect people and cultures.
