The Japan Creative Centre (JCC), Embassy of Japan, is proud to present an exhibition and talk event on JENESYS2016 (Japan-East Asia Network of Exchange for Students and Youths 2016). There will be a showcase of panels by the Temasek Polytechnic students who participated in the ‘Inbound from Asia-Pacific region (Theme: Economics)’ programme. The one-day talk event will be presented by JENESYS2016 (Theme: Economics) participants from Temasek Polytechnic and other organisations.

About JENESYS2016

JENESYS2016 is a people-to-people exchange programme between Japan and the Asia-Pacific region, which aims to promote mutual trust and understanding, build a basis for future friendship and cooperation, and promote global understanding of Japan’s society, history, diverse culture, politics, economics and diplomatic relations.

About the Exhibition

The presenters in this exhibition/talk participated in the ‘Inbound from Asia-Pacific region (Theme: Economics)’ programme, which specifically aims to strengthen economic partnership. They visited Japan for approximately 10 days. While in Japan, they were given a lecture on the economic relationship and its future prospects between Japan and ASEAN member states. Each group had a sub-topic of Transportation System, Craftsmanship (High Technology), Industry University Collaboration, Medical Technology, Youth Leader and so on. The participants visited local governments or local SMEs with unique tradition or high technologies promoting their overseas development in different areas of Japan.

The participants expressed strong attention to the Japanese products or technologies, as well as the attitude towards manufacturing by Japanese companies. Based on their findings and learning in Japan, each group prepared a presentation in the final session and reported on the actions plans to be taken after returning to their home countries.

The Temasek Polytechnic students, whose panels will be displayed during the exhibition, visited Tokyo and the Tohoku area. They previously held an exhibition entitled ‘Through our Eyes: Closer to Nihon’ from 24 - 28 April 2017 at Temasek Polytechnic, where they presented about what they had learnt during the programme.
