Sisters Satsuki and Mei move to a leafy suburb with their father. One day, they encounter the fantastical creature “Totoro.” Consequently, through their meeting with Totoro, they begin to have more amazing experiences.
When Mei goes to take corn to her mother in hospital but gets lost on the way, the worried Satsuki seeks Totoro’s help, and a giant 12-legged cat with a body like a bus appears. Its eyes blaze brightly like headlights as they dash freely over power lines and through forests, racing like the wind toward Mei.
