Japan Creative Centre (JCC), Embassy of Japan in Singapore together with The Japan Foundation, The Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) and VIVID Creation, invite you to a seminar that introduces the taste as well as safety aspects of Japanese seafood products including salmon, scallops, yellowtail, flounder and seaweed.

Not only will participants experience a vast range of interesting facts and knowledge throughout the session, they may also look forward to a wonderful time with an appetising taste session of mouth-watering sushi and other dishes made with Japanese seafood products by chef Mr. Junichi Yokoyama, Managing Director of TJC Food Holdings and the owner for Hokkaido Fish Market Sushi Japanese Restaurant.

About the Presenters

Balathandautham

Mr. Sakthibalan Balathandautham who has spent 4 years in Japan, graduated from Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University and is a proficient Japanese speaker. He specialises in the Japanese Fine Food Industry and has 3 years of experience in direct F&B imports and distribution from Japan. Furthermore, he is a SSI Kikisakeshi Sake Somelier. Mr. Saki has also received The Straits Times' Singaporean of the Year 2021 award.

Ms Amanda Tan left a corporate career in F&B Public Relations to start Zairyo, a gourmet Japanese online grocer. Working alongside her husband, Zairyo sources seasonal produce directly from Japanese markets, with fresh imports arriving four times per week. Their goal is to offer home cooks premium, quality ingredients that provide excellent value for money and rival the quality of those used in restaurants.

Beyond Zairyo, Ms. Amanda also runs SEA BOSS, a brand dedicated to providing the public with access to ethically-sourced and responsibly-caught seafood. Through her work at both Zairyo and SEA BOSS, Ms. Amanda demonstrates her passion for creating unique and sustainable culinary experiences.
