Join us at Woodlands Regional Library this December School Holidays for a hands-on workshop by a popular manga artist Evangeline Neo from Evacomics, where you get to learn all about manga, as well as getting to learn to design and draw a character yourself!


About the Workshop

Chibi means short in Japanese. Evangeline Neo from @Evacomics (FB / IG / Twitter) will have give a short introduction about Japanese manga, and be teaching participants how to draw themselves as kawaii chibi (cute and short) characters using pencils and black pens or markers to create the traditional black and white manga look. Worksheets will be provided to aid understanding and help you follow the concept. Materials will be provided and shared between participants. You are also welcome to bring your own favourite medium to draw!

About the Artist

Evangeline Neo is one of the best-known comic artists in Southeast Asia. Born and raised in Singapore, her work won her a scholarship to pursue a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in animation and visual effects at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco; she also has an MBA from Waseda University in Tokyo.

Evangline has been drawing webcomics since 2007 and has published books that have gained her a wide international following, including “Eva, Kopi and Matcha” and “Eva Goes Solo”. Besides a passion for Japanese culture and food, her hobbies include yoga, hiking, traveling, and Chinese Five Arts.
